Aspen Manor Welcomes Corporate Travellers

The owners of Aspen Manor Motel, Simon and Lornae Lowe, say they love having corporate and business travellers as guests. In fact, it’s one of their favourite parts of the job.

Simon and Lornae have been running Aspen Manor for three and a half years. Coming from corporate backgrounds themselves, they took up this new way of life when they decided to move back to Simon’s home country, New Zealand, after many years overseas, mostly spent in London, where the couple first met.

“We met in London 10 years ago,” says Lornae, who is originally from South Africa. “I had moved to the USA first to work in a ski resort. I love travelling.

Simon and Lornae’s first two children were born in London and the third in New Zealand after they moved here to be close to Simon’s family.

Opening a motel seemed to be a perfect fit for the couple.

“We wanted our own business and we love people. We’ve got an accounting background so we know how to run a business. I’m a book-keeper and Simon’s worked with asset management in London,” says Lornae.

“I love meeting new people all the time at reception and learning about what they’re going to be doing and where they’re travelling.”

Simon says Aspen Manor is geared towards corporate travellers and he enjoys seeing regular patrons returning time and again.

“You get to know them,” he says, “and you get to know which ones like to have a bit of a talk and which ones just want to check in and relax in their unit.”

Aspen Manor offers free ultra-fast Wi-Fi internet connection in all units and a meeting room for interviews and presentations.
